Susan Hegarty is a character from the Disney animated feature film Lilo & Stitch. She helps Lilo adopt Stitch when he lands in her animal shelter. She also made a couple guest appearances in Lilo & Stitch: The Series.

Lilo & Stitch[]
Susan runs an animal shelter where Stitch ends up being flung into while escaping from Jumba and Pleakley. At the same time, Nani comes to the shelter to get Lilo a pet to curb her behavior, and Lilo just so happens to find Stitch and instantly becomes fascinated with him. When Stitch is shown to Susan, she gets frightened by his appearance at first, but eventually calms down after Lilo says she wants to adopt him.
Lilo & Stitch: The Series[]
In "Sample", Susan Hegarty calls Merwin and Dean, two failed alien hunters, about Experiment 258 (Sample). Merwin and Dean almost take 258 to an alien convention. However, Lilo and Stitch suddenly arrive at the animal shelter to get Stitch his shots. Merwin and Dean, seeing that Stitch was an alien, attempt to grab him to take him to the convention as well. When Lilo sees Sample, she decides to rescue him from the two alien hunters.
In "Skip", Susan Hegarty presents Experiment 089 (Skip) to Lilo when she asks if there have been any new "dogs" brought to the animal shelter lately. She then lets Lilo take 089 home with her.

- Although her name is not said onscreen, it does appear on the adoption papers she has Nani sign.
- She is named after her voice actress, a dialect coach and occasional voice actress who worked on films like Titanic, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, and Ratatouille.
